Image Destek meet with the British Ambassador in Turkey

In June, members of Destek met with the British Ambassador in Turkey. A keen advocate for accessibility and disability rights, Richard Moore was interested to hear the plans and proposals Destek had and how they could affect members of the public within Turkey. A very warm welcome and excellent hospitality was provided in the Ambassador’s residence in Ankara, with Richards lovely wife Maggie, and joined by her guide dog, Star.

Destek outlined plans to expand its UK offering to the Turkish market with the view of improving the accessibility or both physical and digital material, including buildings, website and accessible documentation.

The Ambassador welcomed the input from a British company to introduce the seriousness of accessibility to the Turkish audience, and hoped that Destek’s presence in Turkey will kick-start Turkish businesses into the understanding importance of catering for its disabled audience.

Destek will be looking at the physical accessibility of buildings, employment matters, digital accessibility, and access to information for disabled customers.

Destek is looking forward to working with companies in Turkey, and would welcome any communications, queries or questions from any interested parties.
